Sandy Healing Field Events

This Saturday marks the 20th anniversary the tragic events of 9/11 that has forever changed our lives. For the fifth year, I humbly volunteered my time last night with the Utah Healing Field to help set up 3,000+ flags that make up the Healing Field memorial hosted each year on the promenade here in Sandy. This gives me the opportunity to reflect on each of the lives lost that fateful day to ensure I never forget. I will never forget.

The flag display will be up until Monday, September 13, 2021. Please come visit while it is up and to take in the beauty of this memorial.

Of special note, each night on the field beginning tonight, Taps will perform at 7:30 PM. On Friday evening, there will be a vintage car show beginning at 5:00PM, and starting at 6:00 PM, the field will be lit up with tea light luminaries meant to represent “one-life one-light”.

There is also a special program scheduled for the evening of Saturday, September 11, 2021 beginning at 7:00 PM where the Utah Symphony will perform, and an Air Force flyover will occur to mark the 20th anniversary of the events of 9/11.

I am so appreciative of Utah Healing Field and Colonial Flag Foundation for their support and efforts in organizing this special event every year. A special thanks to all the volunteers who came to help with the setup. The Healing Field means so much to me and to many others as we have collectively vowed to never forget.
