Candidate Meet and Greet a success!

Hello,

I want to thank everyone who attended the Candidate Kick-off Meet and Greet this past Saturday. It was so nice to meet and talk with each of you. We had an amazing turnout, both in terms of candidates and residents who came together with the goal of getting to know one another.

I first conceived of the Meet and Greet the evening I attending a Night Out Against Crime event at Buttercup Park a few weeks ago. The residents I met with there were very concerned they didn’t know the candidates running for the various seats, nor did they know where to find any information about them.

It was then I decided to organize a candidate event to help solve the problem these residents identified. Within 48 hours I had reserved and paid for the park pavilions, and spoke with each of the candidates running for all open seats. Within 2 weeks we had notified the residents of the event through various communication channels and the Meet and Greet was held.

I have always been known as both a problem-solver and someone who can bring people together. As your next City Council At-large representative, I will continue to bring people together as we work collaboratively to solve the problems we face as a city now and into the future.

I strongly believe in balancing our future needs while preserving all that we love about Sandy. My approach will always include searching for the best solutions through information and data gathering, discussion and collaboration, with all viewpoints thoughtfully considered.
